It's Called a Lounge

College is an overall a great experience but there are always those thoughts that stick in the back of your mind when you are preparing to go to such a place. These questions are very important on how your transitions from high school to college, the most important thing that you can do is visit the little room at the end of the hallway that you hear the commotion in on Sunday during NFL football or the awkward silence that you hear before an exam that you know you are going to fail. This room that you should look into periodically is the lounge. (Oh and incase you haven’t learned this from the moment you stepped foot on the floor or your dorm. These random people that live with you are your new family. Anyway). The lounge is the best place to meet the crazy but loveable family that you inherited when you picked out your room.

The lounge is a place where you can relax and let loose if you aren’t a complete hermit. The best part of this mystical area is the random game system that one of your newly formed family has brought from home. For all intensive purposes let’s just say that it’s a Nintendo 64. You walk into the lounge not knowing anyone (all though you should know at least one person, facebook duh) and you see that everyone is intrigued in a game of Mario Party. You notice that there is a controller sitting there not being used. Don’t be afraid just pick up the controller and ask if you can play. If you get the ultimate stink eye turn and run. Since you just moved in you shouldn’t have to worry about that though. So man up and ask if you can play. They will gladly accept you into the game.
Now that you finally got the guts to play this game that you may or may not have heard of before, it’s a good time for you to ask where everyone is from. Yeah, yeah, yeah i know that you won’t remember everyone’s name but hey it’s a good place to start. When the ice is finally broken you know have full range to talk stuff about how Mario (you) is whopping up on Donkey Kong. Don’t go too crazy with it.
When you are finished with the game a full hour later everyone will probably begin to study which is good for you because you know that you hate bio with a passion. When you return to the lounge after you gather the thousand pound back pack from your room you will notice that a few people actually have the same classes as you. This is good because Professor Blank didn’t explain any thing to you that you could even comprehend. When you engage in the conversation over the class you learn that John Doe and Susie Q. think that class is easy and are extremely willing to help you not fail. Hey and then there is a bonus you just may have gained some friends.
So let’s review, the scary place at the end of the hall is not near as bad as you thought it was or could be. You can have some pretty fun times in this place. You can meet many of your newly inherited odd ball family. It’s a great place to study especially when you don’t know what the hell your professor is teaching let alone saying. Last and most important to most people it is a great place to meet peole that could transpire to be friends for life. So remember that the lounge is there as your social out let and you should use it to your advantage when ever possible.
